Announcements and Important Events
Goshen High School and Edward Jones are proud to announce the student-athlete of the month award to recognize athletic and academic excellence. A senior male and female student-athlete will be selected from August-May each school year. At the end of the year, a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete of the month, as selected by the GHS coaching staff.
The winners of the Edward Jones Student-Athlete of the Month Award for September are:
Lizzy Kirkton and Bryant Grewe with Edward Jones Representative Matt Szynal.
-Lizzy Kirkton: Lizzy is the daughter of Todd and Allison Kirkton. She has two sisters Haley and Sophia. Lizzy is an outside and inside hitter on the volleyball team. She also participates in basketball. Lizzy led the team in kills during the month of September and help lead the team in winning the Goshen Invitational. She has won the Coaches Award in volleyball and has attended the Academic Honors Banquet. Lizzy has a 4.14 GPA and is ranked number fourth in her class. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Stay In Bounds Ambassadors, and church youth group. Lizzy has been named a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete throughout her high school career for her hard work both in and out of the classroom. After high school, she plans on going to college to study exercise science and to participate in collegiate athletics.
-Bryant Grewe: Bryant is the son of Rick and JoAnn Grewe. He has a sister Brooke and a brother Jake. Bryant is a running back and linebacker on the football team. He also participates in basketball and track and field. Bryant has 48 carries for 149 yards with 2 touchdowns. He also has 15 tackles, 8 assist, and 2 tackle for loss. Bryant hardly comes off the field and has been a great leader for our team. He is an extremely hard worker on the football field and in the classroom. Bryant has a 3.98 GPA. Bryant is a member of the Stay In Bounds Ambassadors, Student Athletic Council, Student Council, and Key Club. Bryant was a member of the NLC and Sectional Champs for Track and Field and received NLC Honorable Mention in football. He has received the Kiwanis Scholar Athlete award throughout his high school career for his outstanding grades while participating in athletics. After high school, Bryant plans to attend college and major in finance.
