Announcements and Important Events
Goshen High School and Edward Jones are proud to announce the student-athlete of the month award to recognize athletic and academic excellence. A senior male and female student-athlete will be selected from August-May each school year. At the end of the year, a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete of the month, as selected by the GHS coaching staff.
The winners of the Edward Jones Student-Athlete of the Month Award for January are:
Eve Miller and Xavier Groves.
-Eve Miller: Eve is the daughter of Debbie Miller. She has a brother Sam. Eve has participated in girls swimming the past three seasons. She is a two-time girls swimming letter winner. Eve has received the Beets Hoke Teamwork Award and was the Top Kiwanis Scholar Athlete as a sophomore. She is involved with ceramics at Goshen High School. Eve has a 3.94 GPA. She has been named a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete throughout her high school career for her hard work both in and out of the classroom. After high school, Eve plans to attend IUPUI where she is plan on majoring in social work with her goal of helping people get out of human trafficking.
-Xavier Groves: Xavier is the son of Mike and Niki Groves. He has participated in boys swimming the past four years. Xavier has received the top Kiwanis Scholar Athlete in his class in boys swimming during his junior season. He is a two-time letter winner in boys swimming. Xavier is involved at church and his internship at Clay Bottom Farms. He has a 3.58 GPA. Xavier has received the Kiwanis Scholar Athlete award throughout his high school career for his outstanding grades while participating in athletics. After high school, he would like to attend Purdue University and majoring in environmental science.
